Spring Roof Inspections - Butcher & Butcher Construction

Spring Roof Inspections

Regular maintenance is key to extending the life of your roof. Even the best-built roofs can deteriorate early without proper upkeep. That’s why the National Roofing Contractors Association and Butcher & Butcher Construction Company recommend two roof inspections per year, one in the spring and one in the fall.

A standard inspection includes the following:

• Removing debris and vegetation from roof surfaces
• Cleaning drains and gutters
• Checking drain clamping rings for a secure fit
• Inspecting and caulking pitch pans, metal work, and masonry walls
• Performing a visual inspection of seams for watertightness
• Assessing roof areas for damage from trades, vandalism, or weather
• Examining membranes around ventilators for grease contamination
• Identifying patterns of wear from foot traffic
• Applying protective coating where needed

Proactive maintenance protects your investment and helps prevent costly repairs in the future.
