Spotlight on Commercial Roofing
B&B’s commercial crews are currently installing the metal details and putting the finishing touches on the new 24,000 square foot roof system atop the Natatorium addition at South Lyon High School.
The job included tying into the existing structure with multiple roof sections. The Natatorium roof was specifically designed to resist the high humidity levels associated with the facility. It incorporates vapor barriers, a minimum R-30 insulation value with tapered insulation, and a reinforced 60mil EPDM Elevate Roof system featuring custom .063 aluminum coping.

The B&B Commercial Roofing Division completed a roof replacement on a 60,000 square foot medical facility in Troy, Michigan, in the fall of 2024. The existing ballasted EPDM roof system was removed and replaced with a new 60mil TPO Invisiweld system. Additional insulation was installed to achieve an R-30 insulating value.
During the project, the team faced extreme temperature fluctuations—common in late fall across Michigan. The Invisiweld TPO system from Elevate proved ideal for such conditions. Its unique induction welding process allows it to handle temperature swings effectively during installation. In addition to being installation-friendly, the system offers excellent wind uplift resistance and is commonly used in high-velocity hurricane zones due to its durability.
