ROOF COATINGS
WHY REROOF WHEN YOU CAN RESTORE?
The cost of reroofing continues to increase year after year. A roof coating may be an appropriate option when a roof has aged due to UV exposure and harsh weather conditions. A reflective roof coating extends the service life on an existing roofing system and reduces harmful heat island effects. Reflective roof coatings act as a cooling barrier which lowers electric bills and can significantly lower rooftop temperatures.
Applying a reflective coating will extend the life of your roof up to 25 years.
Silicone coatings are ideal for use as a maintenance coating system over existing roof systems. They can be applied over metal roofs, built-up roofing with a mineral cap sheet, modified bitumen, and single-ply membranes. Silicones are solvent-free, highly flexible, and have excellent UV stability. If providing a superior weather barrier is a priority, silicone is the solution.
FONTAINEBLEAU MIAMI
B&B Crews are in the process of a massive restoration project at the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami. We are restoring over 230,000 sq ft of Firestone modified bitumen roof systems on all structures, including the Versailles and Chateau Towers with GACO S4200 silicone roof coatings.
The process involves power washing, repairing deficiencies, installing a red primer, and finally applying the GACO silicone at 50 wet mils. Upon completion, these buildings will have a seamless, highly reflective roofing system that provides long-term protection against South Florida’s intense UV exposure, heavy rainfall, and ponding water while extending the life of the existing roof systems.
The GACO silicone coating will also help reduce rooftop temperatures, improve energy efficiency, and lower cooling costs throughout the property for years to come.
