B&B was contracted for a complete exterior zinc wall panel replacement on this commercial building in Birmingham. The 50+ year old existing panels had been damaged and sheet metal details had begun to fail. The building owner selected the Rheinzink pre-weathered blue gray finish for the new zinc panels. The existing panels were removed and recycled, and Grace Ice & Water shield was installed over the substrate. New custom B&B shop fabricated zinc panels were installed on a batten, creating an air gap behind the panels which included Rheinzink Air Mat Z mesh for air circulation. Many details on the panels were changed form the original design to create a more watertight seal and a better performing panel. Full scaffolding tunnels and protection were utilized to protect the office workers, as the building was in constant use during construction. B&B had a great relationship with the building owner, who was very pleased with our install and the lack of disruption to the businesses housed here. Great job team!
